"BackCrafting" Experience: Creative Hiking Retreat in Blue Ridge Mountains

You have two options with this experience. 

Option 1: Day Hike Only: Hike in with us and do the craft and hike back out

Option 2: Hike in, do the craft lesson, and stay overnight with us at camp - just add on the gear rental option to stay the night.

Join us for a unique day hike or overnight hiking experience that blends the grounding power of the outdoors with the joy of creating art by the campfire. We call it BackCrafting because it combines two of my favorite things - backpacking and crafts

These small-group trips are designed to slow you down, spark your creativity, and build your confidence in the outdoors - all in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. Whether you’ve been craving a reset or just want a playful, peaceful escape, this is for you.

Activity Themes:

April 11: Wildflowers and Watercolors: Learn to identify wildflowers along the trail and Paint WNC Wildflowers with simple watercolor techniques 

September 5: Blueridge Sunset Painting: Enjoy the sunset and enjoy a step by step process to create your own beautiful Blue Ridge Sunset painted wooden ornament 

Dinner and all craft materials are included in the booking price. 

Schedule: 

2:00 PM Meet at Sam's Knob Trailhead on the Blue Ridge Parkway

2:30 - 4:00 Hike in and set up tents (those that are camping) Those that are not camping - we'll begin getting materials for craft.

4:00- 5:00 Complete activity together + hangout in the forest

5:30 Dinner at camp (for everyone) and those that are not camping will hike out to the parking lot when they are ready

7:00 Campfire as regulations allow
